What is the CBP - 5106 Form?
The CBP Form 5106, also known as the Consignee/Importer Identity form is a document that must be submitted to the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) before importing goods into the US, as per 19 CFR 24.5
After this form is completed and submitted to the CBP, the consignee/importers will possess an account with the CBP and have the authority to import goods.
It is important to note that any changes to your name, company name, address, phone number, or other identifying information require submission of a revised CBP Form 5106 to CBP.
Keeping this information current is essential to avoid complications such as delays, denial of entry, and potential fines during future importation attempts.
